Completion of the Pepsi
Grant Cage Construction
May 2011

Back in late 2010 Johnny May, a dedicated raptor center volunteer entered the center in a grant challenge sponsored by Pepsi Cola. The grant was for $5,000 and would be used for construction of a new bank of cages at the Center to house our non-releaseable education raptors. This was a online contest, and thanks to Johnny and his efforts, the Center won the challenge! By early May 2011 construction was begun on the cages, and they were completed in about six weeks. Johnny is shown standing by the completed cages.

Thanks, Johnny, for a job well done. It is with the help of dedicated volunteers like Johnny May and Jim and Martha Waldron that we are able to get jobs done and help rehabilitate birds of prey in the area.

Funding was also provided by supporters of the Center and several conservation groups as well. Since the Center is a 501(c)(3) Not For Profit Corporation, donations may be tax deductible. The Center is 100% dependent on donations like these for daily operations, and each contribution is important and greatly appreciated. If you or your group is interested in making a donation, contact Director Knox Martin for details.
